Let's observe and analyze where the beauty of life comes from and what its source is. Where is our suffering from and what is its source?

All excellent things are novel or brand new. The joy that this kind of freshness brings us is just like the new, nice feeling we always have when we meet something or someone at the first time. But as time goes by, things may change and we may feel tired and bored. Why do we have such feelings? Because during the process of dealing with new things or new people, estimation of personal reward, gain or loss, and advantages or disadvantages will gradually build up or recur frequently.

Actually, if we observe our life carefully, we can find that every moment or every thing has never been replayed. Nothing has ever truly happened before. Everything is utterly brand new. However, this freshness is just obstructed by our habitual perception or memories. Each of our thoughts, speeches or actions, similar to a beach washed by the tides, is freshly new. Moreover, none of the living phenomena has ever come into being before, just like in a dream.

The purity and equality is the nature of life. Nothing-ever-happened is just the expression of the pure nature of life. The beauty is coming from this nothing-ever-happened. Things of good or bad, right or wrong have never been repeated themselves, which enables us enjoy the newness and freshness, and manifests the power of the inherent purity.

However, people like permanence and love things staying the same. We hope love, happiness, and what we possess will never change. However, this hope is a delusion or an attachment, which  inevitably results in repetition and accumulation and therefore generates sufferings accordingly.

Based on observing and comparing the beauty of the nothing-ever-happened and the sufferings of the delusion and attachment, and coming to understand the sources of the beauty and sufferings, we then have an approach of freeing ourselves from these sufferings. If we keep practicing to get our hearts back to the nothing-ever-happened in our life, we will no longer take the duality of gain or loss and right or wrong of phenomena as real and hold onto them. Dual opposition means putting efforts and consumption, which is pre-determined by our delusions. On the contrary, nothing-ever-happened is non-dual and  effortless. Since every moment is changing and brand new, the duality comes nowhere.

You can use this method to analyze something that you think is repeated in your life and the approach will definitely stand the test. By nature, all the dual phenomena have never truly happened. They are pure ever forever. We must rely on the power of the nature to observe and awaken to every dual phenomenon.

For example, traveling is supposed to be relaxing, however people often feel exhausted after trip. That's because during the tour, we may encounter things that go well with or go against our expectations. This could lead to the accumulation of good or bad, and gain or loss. the excitement in the journey can temporarily make us forget these accumulation and blind our tired feeling. But when the holiday is over, the accumulation will emerge and wear us out. Let’s take a close look at the nature of this tiredness, and we will find the tiredness itself has never happened before and never been repeated, and it is brand new. We will then feel relaxed and joyful.

Only if we peel off appearance of every phenomenon and touch its nature, can we return to the freshness of mind.
